Packing Tips
At Rogers Storage Solutions, we strive to make your storing experience as simple and stress free as possible. To help with this we have put some our favourite packing tips below.
Before you start packing, make sure to load up on all the materials you will need, such as scissors, boxes, and markers. If you are going to be moving heavy items please lift safely, get help from friends or family, and get a trolley.

Create a wall at the back
Start at the back of the container and stack items to create a vertical wall rather than spreading out on the floor. This will make best use of the space, meaning you can get much more stored away. Place the heavy items at the bottom and lighter at the top.

Pack important items near the front
If you know you have some items that are going to be in storage longer term then push them to the back. If you have more essential items then pack them towards the front for easy access. If you are unsure then leave a small, but safe walk way through the container.

Storing appliances
Before storing white goods such as dishwasher, fridge etc. you should clean them thoroughly prior to storage. When stored leave the doors open slightly to avoid mildew where possible.

Dismantle furniture
Take apart any parts of your furniture that you can, such as legs of chairs and tables. This will make it easier to pack items in more efficiently as well as helping avoid damage to the furniture.

Storing pictures and mirrors
For smaller items wrap and stack vertically in boxes. For larger items, buy special picture storage boxes. Always stack these vertically as it avoids damaging the item as well as being a more efficient use of space

Don't store everything
While storage containers are great for nearly everything there are some things that should not be stored. Food, flammables, cleaning products, and ammunition should never be stored inside a storage container for safety and health reasons.
